Surekha Davies is a historian of art, science and ideas at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and the author of the multi-awardwinning Renaissance Ethnography and the Invention of the Human: New Worlds, Maps and Monsters (2016). She is currently writing two books: on curiosity cabinets, and on monsters.
